Struggling with his dual identity, failed comedian Arthur Fleck meets the love of his life, Harley Quinn, while incarcerated at Arkham State Hospital. Lady Gaga, Brendan Gleason and writer-director Todd Phillips say what scared them the most while working on the musical sequel. The subtitle of the movie “Folie a Deux” means “The Madness of Two” in French. This initially led to speculation about Harley Quinn appearing in the film, which was soon confirmed.

The name Folie a Deux comes from the 19th century French psychiatrists Charles Lassegue and Gilles Fallet. The term was coined to describe two or more people who share the same insanity or delusion. The foreman is talking about “the people of New York,” not Gotham City. This is because New York State is the plaintiff in the criminal case, and this version of Gotham City is apparently located in New York State (in most versions, Gotham is located in New Jersey).

The story adds nothing truly new or original
The sequel to “Joker” was promised a lot, but the final result did not live up to the expectations, it was also a bad movie. The ambitious decision to turn the film into a musical, although bold, was not interesting. The relationship between the Joker and Harley Quinn, while central to the plot, is unconvincing and lacks the emotional depth that would make it memorable. Joaquin Phoenix proves his talent, but his interpretation is also a bit repetitive compared to the first film.
Overall a bad movie
Lady Gaga gives a solid performance as Harley Quinn, but the character seems to be crushed by the Joker’s domineering figure. In the end, “Joker: Madness for Two” is a film that leaves a feeling of incompleteness, I did not like it.
